WHAT DOES SVATANTRA MEAN?
“Svatantra (sva-tun-trah) is a Sanskrit word that means many things: independence, independent, self-willed, absolute…
Svatantra refers to the discovery of one's own true nature that is free of external factors including relationships, social/cultural/gender and other characteristics that ordinarily form our identity. When we see through our dependency on all external factors that make up who we think we are, we come into our most authentic and real self.
Svatantra is the goal of radical self-discovery through understanding, digesting and earnestly applying the simplified concepts from Eastern traditions. Svatantra is only possible when we become willing to not use these concepts to bypass pain or hardship but to sincerely understand the cause of our suffering.
