Ancient Wisdom
Modern World

Rooted in the wisdom of an unbroken living lineage of nondual Tantra, Svatantra Institute offers an embodied path to freedom amid ordinary life.

Freedom Here-Now

Svatantra (svah-tun-trah) is a Sanskrit word meaning absolute freedom.

In the nondual Tantric tradition, freedom is not found by escaping the world or transcending ordinary life. It is discovered here, in the body and senses, in relationship and work, in joy and difficulty, in every dimension of our lived experience.

Through study and embodied practice, we learn to recognize what has always been present: a freedom that does not depend upon our circumstances, yet transforms the way we meet them.

This is the heart of Svatantra. Nothing is excluded from the path because life is the path.

Many Doorways. One Recognition.

The teachings of Svatantra Institute are rooted in Tantra and enriched by the contemplative traditions of Mantra, Yantra, Yoga and Vedānta. They are explored alongside psychology, biology and modern science, not to reduce one system to another, but to illuminate the many dimensions of human experience.

The path moves from understanding to experience: through study and exploration, sustained practice, immersion, retreat and mentorship.

These pathways are not separate pursuits. Each offers a doorway into the same inquiry: How do we recognize the freedom that is already present, and learn to live from it?
