Demystifying Tantra:

Foundational Tenets (Self-Study Course)

Have you ever embarked on a road trip without a map?

Tantra can be like that - powerful practices, but where do they lead?

This 12-part course is a necessary introduction to the path of nondual Tantra. Each part consists of a short lesson describing one of the fundamental tenets of Tantra and a handout with prompts to immediately apply in your life.

Before you embark on a journey, you must know what route to take, how you’ll get there (Walk? Take a bus? Drive?), and, most importantly, why you want to go there in the first place!

When it comes to the many different paths to self-discovery, understanding the tenets is crucial because:

1.    The view of the path defines the why, the what and the how of the journey.

2.    The why is the goal of the path, and the fruit of the prescribed practices.

3.    The what is the map of the path, including the various landmarks and detours on the way.

4.    The how consists of the prescribed practices, which are determined by the goal of the path.

The view, the practice, and the fruit of practice, work as a whole. While it’s tempting to pick and choose as we wish, any path is most effective when imbibed in its entirety including its nuanced teachings that make up the intricacies on the map.

Some of the topics covered in the Foundational Tenets Course include the:

·      Cosmology of nondual Tantra

·      Place of sound and meaning assigned to sound

·      States of consciousness

·      Understanding of time

·      Karma and reincarnation

·      Concept of Kuṇḍalinī

·      Psycho-physiological typing for prescription of practice

·      Concept of moving out versus moving in

·      Role of the teacher

·      Concept of initiation

This course is a recommended prerequisite for all self-study courses

Think of it as your GPS for the amazing world of Tantric spirituality!
